Taking a fraction of a standard dose, usually more frequently, in the hope of retaining benefit while reducing side effects.
In plain terms
Widely discussed for GLP-1 drugs. It is a hypothesis, not a protocol: the approved dosing schedules were the ones tested, and the outcomes attributed to these drugs were produced at those doses. Microdosing may well reduce side effects. Whether it preserves the benefits is not established.
