Community slangOzempic face
Also known as: ozempic butt · glp-1 face
Facial gauntness and sagging following rapid weight loss on a GLP-1 drug — caused by the weight loss, not by the drug itself.
In plain terms
Coined by a cosmetic dermatologist and rapidly generalised. The mechanism is prosaic: losing facial fat quickly, at any age, leaves skin that does not retract as fast. The same appearance follows rapid weight loss by any means.
The naming is unfortunate, because it attributes to a molecule what belongs to the rate of loss — which is one of the few things a slower titration and adequate protein intake can actually influence.
