Beyond-use date
Also known as: bud
The date after which a compounded or reconstituted preparation should no longer be used — distinct from a manufacturer’s expiry date.
In plain terms
An expiry date comes from stability studies on a manufactured product. A beyond-use date is assigned to something prepared afterwards, and is generally much shorter. A compounded vial with no beyond-use date is a vial nobody has taken responsibility for.
